ISPBC ANNOUNCES UNTAPPED WATER SYSTEMS AS A MEMBER IN NEW CATEGORY: ATMOSPHERIC WATER GENERATION
(New York, February 27, 2014) International Self-Powered Building Council (ISPBC) adds atmospheric water generation (AWG) as a membership category, and Untapped Water Systems (UWS) as its new Diamond-level member. The company’s water generation technology harvests moisture from the atmosphere, and produces clean drinking water while purifying the air for an optimal indoor environment.
Unpredictable weather patterns, such as massive storms that have cost the U.S. economy $50 billion in lost productivity this winter (source:CNBC), drought and environmental disasters further threaten the strained global water supply.
Water and energy security are integral parts of ISPBC’s vision for a better world with autonomous buildings, less pollution, healthy air, and economic growth with positive impact on the climate.

UWS’ AIR X is an atmospheric water generator (AWG) using a fan to draw air in, and cooling it as it passes through a first-class air filtration system. The condensed water is stored in a self-cleaning tank, further filtered and instantly heated or chilled.
The AIR X unit is:
- Reliable: Generates 20 liters of water per day at 80°F /60% humidity (ASHRAE Standard Type A)
- Healthy: Creates clean, safe water exceeding global drinking water standards (EPA, WHO)
- Affordable: 75-100% cheaper than bottled water – from a free water source
